MEET THE FOUNDER
Kirsten is the founder and creative force behind CAMARUKI, a Los Angeles–based art and design studio exploring texture, form and material. Working primarily with plaster, sand and other natural media, she creates sculptural works that sit between art and object—raw, tactile and quietly imperfect. Her visual language—shaped by a road trip across America—draws on the sculptural curves of California’s Spanish Revival architecture, the earthen materiality of New Mexico’s adobe buildings and a reverence for simplicity and craft.
Our Approach
Each CAMARUKI piece is handcrafted in plaster, concrete, ceramic, textiles and other tactile media, with an emphasis on texture, form and the inherent character of each material. Refined yet organic, the work is designed to bring a quiet presence to the spaces it inhabits.
Artworks and objects can be customized in scale, color and finish to respond to a particular space. We also create large-scale installations for exterior settings, carrying our sculptural language outdoors. At the heart of the studio is a commitment to thoughtful craftsmanship and enduring, understated beauty.
